BuildOff is where university students and aspiring builders turn “I have an idea” into “try what I built.”

You’ll have a defined period to build a functional minimum viable product (MVP). Solve a real problem, get feedback, and ship something people can actually use.

The finish line isn’t a presentation. It’s a product with a future.

Can I participate alone?

Yes. BuildOff is designed for individual builders as well as teams.

Can I participate as a team?

Yes. Team size and membership rules will be published for each edition before registration opens.

Do I need an existing startup?

No. Bring a problem you want to solve and build an MVP during the competition period.

Can beginners participate?

Yes. Beginners are welcome. Build something focused, learn as you go and ask the community for help.

What type of product can I build?

Any useful digital product: AI, SaaS, mobile apps, developer tools and more. Focus on solving a real problem.

Does the MVP need to be fully finished?

It should be a functional MVP that demonstrates the core solution. You do not need every feature of a mature product. Detailed submission requirements will be published for each edition.

How will products be evaluated?

The planned criteria are problem and impact, product execution, innovation, user experience and potential. Any edition-specific changes will be published before the competition.

How do I submit my MVP?

Submission instructions and deadlines will be published for your edition. You can review the planned submission checklist on this page.

What happens to my product after BuildOff?

List your product on Contecify, gather feedback and keep developing it after the competition. Product listings follow Contecify’s existing onboarding and review process.
